System nodes
System nodes are the circles around the subject - each one a school, workplace, agency, or relationship in the subject's environment.
Add a system node
Open Add system node in the side panel, pick a category, then click an empty spot on the canvas to place the circle. The new node starts with the category name as its label, which you can rename in the side panel afterward.
Categories and color
Each node belongs to a category that seeds its color, so related systems read together at a glance. The built-in categories are extended family, friends, work, school, health care, recreation, spiritual, neighbours, social services, online / digital, and other.
The label stays free text, so a node can read "Dr. Lee" or "Lincoln High" while keeping its category color. To match a color outside the presets, set a color override on the node. Clearing the override returns it to the category color.
Size
A node's size carries meaning on an ecomap - a larger circle for a system that looms larger in the subject's life. Choose from four sizes (small, medium, large, extra large) in the side panel. New nodes default to medium.
Edit or remove a node
Click a node to select it and edit its label, category, color, and size in the side panel. Press Delete or use the panel to remove it, and any connections attached to it are removed with it. Next, link nodes to the subject with connections.
